Get to know a little about me
second year student
My name is Branden Woods and I am a visual story-teller. Growing up in Kokomo, IN I got my start in photography during my freshman year of high school. Unexpectedly a graphic design class introduced me to the world of photography and I have never looked back.
I am currently advancing my studies through Ball State University's Photographic Storytelling program. Here I continue to immerse myself in every style of photography available to me. I use my love of portraiture to inspire a personal connection with each image.
In high school I did a lot of graphic design through the Kokomo Career Center. I got access to a bunch of different cameras there and started experimenting with what photography could be. I mostly took pictures of nature and landscapes, but also did a little bit of portrait work for class.
In college I have joined everything I can to be involved with my work. I am an officer of the student chapter of the National Press Photographers Association on campus to get involved in my community and broaden my skills. Through this and my variety of classes I have tried out new things like sports and event photography. My strongest skill that I have picked up here is my love for portrait photography, and I am building on that skill every day.
